“I haven’t seen anything more perfect. I love that this dress feels truly me. “
“To be fond of dancing is a certain step to falling in love.” – Jane Austen, Pride & Prejudice
Like all great love stories, ours has been an adventure that started with the joy of dancing and is filled with unexpected twists, long conversations, and unforgettable milestones.
We met at a mediocre party, where finding each other was the only bright spot, just before the whirlwind of COVID, when life as we knew it changed, and it seemed like we might never see each other again. Amidst the uncertainty, our connection grew stronger through endless phone calls over the English Channel, laughter from a distance, and the comfort of knowing we had each other, no matter what – our love was growing stronger with each day.
When the time was right, we took the next big step and both finally moved to the same country to be together. What started as a new chapter soon became home, filled with love, shared dreams, and the little moments that make life special.
Then came our unforgettable trip through the UK, where we explored countless manor houses and tried to find the best lemon drizzle cake in the country. This was topped off by Jacques’ proposal on the breathtaking heights of Stanage Edge—a moment we will cherish forever. A beautiful reminder that through all the challenges, the best things in life are worth waiting for.
Dress: Cindy
I tried on so many dresses in search of the one—lace, glitter, and everything a woman could dream of. But when I slipped into my dress, I just knew. Even before I saw it in the mirror, it felt different. And as I stepped out of the dressing room, one of my friends looked at me and said, “You’re shining. That’s it.”
At that moment, I looked up—and I knew. That was it.
I’m usually very logical, the kind of person who needs days to think things through. I was absolutely convinced I wouldn’t choose my dress without careful consideration. But there I was, deciding that very afternoon—and I’ve never once regretted it. I haven’t seen anything more perfect. I love that this dress feels truly me.
We got married at the breathtaking Temple of Apollo at Stourhead in Wiltshire, UK.
We chose this location because I’ve always loved Pride and Prejudice—especially the 2005 film adaptation—and one of its most iconic scenes was filmed right here. During our engagement trip through the UK, we visited the gardens at Stourhead and were completely enchanted. The sweeping landscape, the majestic manor house, and the beautiful temples—everything felt like a dream. We knew right then that this had to be the place where we’d say our vows. It felt truly magical.
